Appeal after man seriously injured in Newham collision

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a man was seriously injured in a collision in Newham.

Police were called at 20:30hrs on Sunday, 5 February, to reports of a collision involving a black Mercedes and a white Seat Leon on Royal Docks Road, near to the Gallions Reach Shopping Park.

Officers attended along with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service.

Two men, who were passengers in the Seat Leon, were taken to hospital. One of the men, aged 18, remains in a life-threatening condition. His next of kin have been informed.

Both drivers, men aged 22 and 24, were arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. They have since been bailed.

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit would like to hear from any witnesses, or drivers who were in the area at the time with dash cam footage.
